MITA International School of Science

ABOUT US

Preparing students for the future

It is a time of unprecedented change. It is a time requiring individuals who not only respond to change but also initiate it. It is a time to redefine what is possible.

THINK & ACT
INTERNATIONAL
SCIENCE

Time at school is an organic mixture of these three themes with school days filled with discoveries and surprises. Students experience moments that open their eyes to a new world. To nurture the ability to thrive in this uncertain age, MITA International School of Science will continue to provide “global standard” education.

Six-year design for independent learning

What to learn and how to learn it. Students decide. This way, learning becomes enjoyable.

THINK & ACT

Striving every day for deeper learning and creativity

MITA encourages thinking deeply to answer the question “why?” However, thinking alone will not lead to progress. “ACT” means putting thoughts into action, uncovering further questions, and applying methods to solve them. This is the cycle of “THINK AND ACT”. This is how we strive every day for deeper learning and creativity. The “THINK & ACT” cycle fosters deeper learning to create a fulfilling life.

SCIENCE

Innovative education is the way forward

All subjects use
the Scientific Approach Cycle

A six-year program that turns curiosity into exploration

  • Non-math and science classes also use the Scientific Approach Cycle.
  • In the first year of junior high school, all classes study science literacy.
From the second year of junior high school, each class/course has a distinct program based on its educational focus.

Unique classes and courses

MSTC starts in year 2

Junior high school ISC students who are highly motivated in the field of science can enroll in MSTC from the second year of junior high school.

*Entry into MSTC is based on a comprehensive process that considers the junior high school MST entrance exam, reasons for applying, Year 1 grades, and the number of places available.

International Science Class (ISC)

Three areas of school to develop English proficiency

  • Homeroom classes include both general students and high-English-ability students.

School
Students earn an overseas high school diploma

Dual Diploma Program : DDP

Obtaining an internationally recognized secondary education certificate while studying at MITA International School of Science

While in Japan, it is possible to obtain an overseas high school diploma.

MITA’s Dual Diploma Program, in partnership with the Western Australia Department of Education, offers students the opportunity to earn both a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and the MITA high school diploma. Courses follow the Western Australian curriculum with qualified teachers at MITA working closely with curriculum specialists from the Western Australian Curriculum and Standards Authority to provide a top quality academic program.

Example of classes offered

  • English or English as an Additional Language or Dialect
  • Mathematics and Methods
  • Biology
  • Modern History
