• Non-math and science classes also use the Scientific Approach Cycle.
• In the first year of junior high school, all classes study science literacy.
  From the second year of junior high school, each class/course has a distinct program based on its educational focus.

Unique classes and courses

MSTC starts in year 2

Junior high school ISC students who are highly motivated in the field of science can enroll in MSTC from the second year of junior high school.

＊Entry into MSTC is based on a comprehensive process that considers the junior high school MST entrance exam, reasons for applying, Year 1 grades, and the number of places available.

Three areas of school to develop English proficiency

• Homeroom classes include both general students and high-English-ability students.
• International teachers are assistant homeroom teachers and contribute to homeroom and school events.
• English classes are offered at three levels: Standard, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Study abroad programs are an additional opportunity

• Students can participate in a single-term study abroad program in Year 3 of junior high school or long-term study abroad program in high school.
• These programs not only improve English skills but also broaden horizons and contribute to a global mindset.

International Students

• For high-English-ability students, English classes are advanced level and taught entirely in English by native English-speaking teachers.
• Math, science, and social studies are taught in Japanese.

Foundation Seminar

• Students choose an area of interest and develop an investigation.
  Research results are compiled and presented as a paper.
• The Foundation Seminar cultivates the ability to think and discuss with a broad perspective and to collaborate with a variety of people to use multiple practices in the field.

Students can enroll in MSTC from Year 2

• Students who are highly motivated in the field of science can enroll in MSTC from the second year of junior high school.
• MSTC includes Research Fundamentals α.
  Research activities in junior high school MSTC progress to Research Fundamentals β conducted in high school MSTC.

Learn all major subjects in English to acquire comprehensive English ability

• Homeroom classes include Academy and Immersion students.
• Homerooms are majority Academy students and are conducted in English by International Teachers with support from Japanese teachers.
• English and core academic subject classes are organized into Academy and Immersion sections.
• For Immersion students, math, science, and social studies classes become progressively all-English during the three years of junior high school.

Opportunities to study abroad in junior high school

• Students can participate in a single-term or long-term study abroad program in the third year of junior high school.
• These programs not only improve English skills but also broaden horizons and contribute to a global mindset.

Academy Students are immersed in an international environment

• Math, science, and social studies are taught in English by an International teacher with expertise in each field.

Academic Seminar

• Academic Seminar, taught in English, provides a foundation in inquiry methods.
• Students collaborate in creating multidisciplinary, cross-curricular investigations.

High School	Students earn an overseas high school diploma

• In collaboration with the Western Australian Department of Education, the Dual Diploma Program (DDP) offers a rigorous academic program.
• Students earn a Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE) in addition to a Japanese high school diploma.
• Students can achieve the WACE through ATAR or the General Course. The ATAR course is designed to prepare students to take the Australian Test for Admission to Australian Universities (ATAR).
